Moxibustion
What is it?
Moxibustion (or ‘moxa’) is the gentle application of warmth from burning mugwort near acupuncture points. The warming effect is used in Traditional Chinese Medicine to support circulation and encourage the smooth flow of Qi through the body’s energy pathways. It’s typically used alongside acupuncture and cupping.
Best suited for
Moxibustion is often used to support conditions associated with cold or stagnation, general muscular discomfort, and as a warming addition to an acupuncture treatment plan.
Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine should complement, not replace, advice from your GP or specialist. Suitability is assessed individually during consultation.
